Back in the summer of 1989,
facing an abundance of garden produce and finding commercial
salsas to be bland without much real flavor or hot but without
much real flavor, and generally not to have very much flavor,
we decided to make our own salsa. Our first try was good; our
second results the next year were outstanding!
It was (and still is), the
"Ultimate Salsa". We couldn't keep it in the cupboard!
Friends and family requested, demanded, and even "stole"
jars of it. We finally had to hide the last few jars in our dresser
drawers to save them.
That’s when we realized
we had an iguana by the tail, and Iguana Tom’s was born.
By late summer, 1991 our MEDIUM and BLAZING salsas
were hot
sellers in gourmet and gift stores
throughout the Great Lakes region. Shortly thereafter we created
our third variety, SMOKIN' our first double award winner!
Thanks to the magic of the
Internet, Iguana Tom's salsas are now available to salsa lovers
all over THE WORLD!!
Iguana Tom's is owned and
operated by Ellen and Tom Siegler. We are a small company, not
a big multi-national. Our salsas are hand-made in the USA by
people we know and trust. No iguanas are ever harmed in the production
of our salsas. (Or even used, for that matter.)
